5th ICGA Annual Meeting : 2024

The Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA) Foundation recently hosted its 5th Annual Meeting from September 20-22, 2024, at the prestigious BRIC-National Institute of Immunology (BRIC-NII) in New Delhi. The meeting brought together a diverse group of experts in the field of cancer genomics, including researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and healthcare leaders. This year’s theme, “Unlocking Insights: Data-Driven Discovery in the Indian Cancer Landscape,” focused on harnessing genomic data to drive precision medicine and improve cancer treatment outcomes in India and overseas.

The meeting included keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions covering the latest advancements in multi-omics research, genomic sequencing, and AI-driven cancer diagnostics. A key highlight was the launch of India’s first multi-omics cancer data portal, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing clinically correlated genomic data from Indian cancer patients.

The event also featured poster sessions, lightning talks, and opportunities for young researchers to present their findings, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of personalized oncology. The three-day meeting concluded with a vision to establish a roadmap for cancer genomics research in India, ensuring better outcomes for future patients and addressing the specific challenges posed by the Indian cancer burden.
