ICGA Global Dialogues Series 2025

Public Lectures in Mumbai & Delhi

About the Series

The ICGA Global Dialogue Series 2025 brings the world’s top cancer genomics experts face-to-face with the Indian public.

This November, join us in Mumbai and Delhi for the special public lecture series:

“Cracking Cancer’s Code: From Genome to Clinic”

Featuring Dr. Jean Claude Zenklusen (Former Director, TCGA, NIH) and Prof. Sunil Badve (Vice Chair, Pathology Cancer Programs, Emory University), and other eminent voices, the series will explore how India can lead the next chapter in precision oncology—by building its own cancer genome atlas.

These interactive sessions are free and open to the public, followed by intimate donor dinners for invited guests to support ICGA’s mission of transforming cancer research and care in India.

About Invited Speakers

Prof. Sunil Badve, MD, FRCPath, is Vice Chair of Pathology Cancer Programs and Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta. A globally respected surgical pathologist and translational cancer researcher, his work has shaped the understanding of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes in triple-negative breast cancer and advanced the classification of thymic tumours. He is an active member of ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group, where he serves as the central pathologist (pathology chair) for several breast cancer clinical trials. With over 260 peer-reviewed publications, he has played key roles in major clinical trials such as TAILORx, COMPASSHER2, and COMET.

He serves on the editorial boards of leading journals, including NPJ Breast Cancer and regularly advises academic and industry research initiatives worldwide. Trained in Mumbai (Grant Government Medical College), Yale, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Badve brings deep diagnostic expertise, a global research network, and a steadfast commitment to improving cancer care in India through genomic and molecular innovation.

Dr. Jean Claude Zenklusen, PhD, is the former Director of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) at the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI), where he led the world’s largest cancer genomics initiative from 2013 until his retirement from federal service in January 2025. Trained at the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, he began his scientific career contributing to the Human Genome Project. At the NCI, he also directed efforts such as the Glioma Molecular Diagnostic Initiative and the REMBRANDT data portal, helping shape open-access platforms in oncology. Dr. Zenklusen brings unmatched experience in cancer genomics, open science, and global data-sharing frameworks to the ICGA mission.
